This document developed by Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc is an educational handout about tardive dyskinesia (TD), a condition that causes involuntary body movements, often linked to long-term use of certain psychiatric medications.
It introduces the MIND-TD questionnaire, a set of four simple questions that clinicians can use to talk with patients about possible symptoms of TD:
- Movement – Do you notice unwanted movements?
- Impact – Do these movements make you feel embarrassed or self-conscious?
- Notice – Has anyone else noticed unusual movements?
- Daily activities – Do these movements affect your routine?
